Lee Dixon and Steve Bould were not really transferred "as a pair". Dixon moved in January 1988 (for a fee of £375,000) and Bould five months later (for £390,000, set by a tribunal).
It's also somewhat misleading to describe Bould as Dixon's "central defensive partner". Bould was a central defender, but Dixon was a right full–back.
Steve Bould made 287 League appearances for Arsenal. After one season at Sunderland he managed Arsenal's academy from 2000 to 2012, and since 2012 he has been assistant manager to Arsène Wenger.
Lee Dixon finished his playing career with Arsenal, retiring in 2002.
